May 2nd, 2016. It was a holiday with a large temperature difference between day and night, with daytime temperatures around 28 degrees Celsius. My wife and I went camping for the first time.
Thinking about the upcoming Labor Day, I bought a 2 person camping tent, a folding chair, and other camping equipment in advance. On May 2nd, we drove to a forest more than 30 kilometers from home. There wasn’t a single house within 5 kilometers of the campsite. Our car wound its way through the tall trees, and we listened to music, looking at the lush greenery, feeling incredibly relaxed.
Soon, we were completely immersed in camping. The entire forest was just the two of us; this tranquility was something we could never experience normally. I sat in the folding chair and pondered: What is the purpose of our lives? Why do we rush around every day yet feel like we’re accomplishing nothing? These are questions we never normally think about, nor do we have time to think about. On weekdays, we’re busy; we both have to work, and at night we each play on our phones, then go to sleep when we’re tired. On weekends, many people work overtime, and we were no exception. We often work overtime, constantly pushed along, losing our own pace. So, during this camping trip, the world quieted down, and I couldn’t help but think about these questions.
The forest night was so quiet, with only the sound of wind rustling through the leaves and the chirping of insects and birds. Because it was so dark, we turned on our camping lights beforehand and chatted in our tent. I asked my wife: “Why are we rushing around like this? What is the purpose of living this life?”
In the middle of the night, two muffled claps of thunder suddenly woke me up, followed by the patter of raindrops hitting the tent. It felt quite cheerful; I rarely had the opportunity to listen to the rain so closely. But my beautiful thoughts were shattered by an unexpected event: the tent was leaking. The rain outside intensified, and water seeped through the seams of the tent, soaking our sleeping bags and air mattresses. All our beautiful fantasies about camping were shattered.
That night, we braved the rain to pack our gear and drove to a hotel. The next day, I told my wife I wanted to make tents. She was very surprised and said, “After such a tiring night, I’m never camping again.” Hearing her complaints, I felt heartbroken. A wonderful camping trip had been ruined by a shoddy tent, so I resolved to make a truly high-quality tent.
- About a month after that camping trip, I opened a camping tent factory. I hired Cui Haiquan, a very well-known tent designer in China, to design all the tents for the factory. Later, I hired Liang Sanyi, a PhD in Materials Science from Zhejiang University, to oversee the materials and craftsmanship for all the tents. Furthermore, we set our grandest goal: to make several camping tents made of superior materials, with a simple design, and absolutely no leaks, so that camping would no longer be a problem in any weather. Our goal attracted many outstanding talents from across the country, leading to the creation of TGpao China tents for camping OEM manufacturer. After nearly ten years of development, we have accumulated rich experience, evolving from single-person camping tents to tents for more than 10 people, and from pop-up tents to pole-mounted tents. Our tents are also exported to more than 30 countries and regions, receiving consistent praise.
Looking back on the experience of our camping trip when the tents leaked during a heavy rain, I finally understood a truth: everyone in the world lives to contribute their talents to solve different human needs.
